The end of October brought with it a “holiday” that Christians react to in a variety of ways. For us, it is an opportunity to meet our neighbors and a chance to have some fun and bring joy to those around us! So, that is exactly what we did! We invited all the families in our housing complex to a fun “bring & share” pool party, complete with hotdogs, s’mores, ice-cream and face-painting…what more could a kid want!
Around thirty people joined us with over twenty or so kids present… it was super busy but also lots of fun! (Okay, so it may have taken us a day or so to ‘recover’!). Nonetheless, it was great to meet new neighbors and make some new friends. The kids had lots of fun and their full of…eek… sugar! Several families shared with us that due to limited funds over this past year their kids haven’t been able to have much ‘fun’ and therefore the pool party was greatly appreciated and enjoyed. Yay!
If you don’t know your neighbors so well, we encourage you to organize a neighborhood get together… who knows, you may just meet some awesome new people!
