You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil. My cup runs over. Psalm 23:5
A year ago, we packed up our lives and set out on our new “adventure“, following God’s call on our lives to spread His love within South Africa. The past year has brought much joy but also times of challenging valleys, testing our perseverance levels and commitment to “running this [life in full-time ministry] race with endurance“!
Upon leaving California we felt to give away our two cars to help two families in need, trusting that the Lord would meet our own need for a car upon our arrival in South Africa. When we initially arrived here, we used “Uber”, which turned out to be a far more affordable option for travel than renting a car and a ministry unto itself! However, it limited our ability to travel long distances and complete some ministry endeavors. As we did not have the finances to purchase a car, we gave the Lord our need for a car into His hands. As needed He provided a car for us to use when we needed to travel far, but it was not a long term solution.
However, the Lord is faithful in all He does… last month I felt that the verse “my cup runs over” was going to apply to our lives in different capacities… and so…. nearly a year to when we had given away our USA cars, we were gifted a car here in South Africa! An incredible blessing and encouragement to God’s continual blessings and hand upon our lives.
I would love to hear about what you are trusting God for in your life or how He has caused your cup to “run over” with His blessings and faithfulness…
The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside quiet waters, He restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever. Psalm 23
