The end of the month found us having one of our regular day-long events for sixty-plus Bokamoso kids, where it was great to be able to show our ministry partners where their funds go in regard to feeding the children in need and those whom we minister to. It was awesome to be blessed to get some great food parcels for the kids as well, which included huge treats like peanut butter! Woohoo!
Our three USA friends jumped in feet first and had lots of fun hanging out with the kids as well as visiting a few of our community empowerment small businesses – enjoying some of the good food sold by our budding entrepreneurs. (These small businesses are often a wood plank set upon bricks on the side of the road, where our single moms sell everything from eggs to sauce to clothes!)
It was so special to have our ministry friend Steve share his testimony of how God saved him, whilst in jail, from drug addiction and the incredible hope he now gives as a Jail Chaplin. Sadly, many of our children (ages 8 – 15) experiment with smoking illegal substances and are surrounded by drug and alcohol abuse, so this testimony resonated with many of them.
All of the children, save two, wanted to pray with Steve to receive the Lord as their savior; whether or not they fully understood what they were asking, we know that the Lord is with them and many seeds are being planted in their lives to know Jesus fully!
A huge thank you to all of you for your ongoing prayers and financial support – every prayer and every cent is hugely needed and appreciated!
