We were blessed to receive a two-seater couch when we first arrived in S. Africa, with no furniture to our name, a couch was amazing! However, being a family of four and having two active kids, we found it hard at times to all squeeze onto a little couch. It also was tricky to host our home church group with only two comfy seats available to those fellowshipping with us!
Just before lockdown started, we were very blessed to receive a donation from a friend specifically for us to purchase a new couch. (Yay!) We have always loved a certain couch brand and our home best suited an L-shaped couch which we also desired. As I was scrolling through Facebook Marketplace, an ad for the exact couch we desired popped up and for several thousand less than these types of couches are usually sold for… they were also including two large ottomans!
We immediately responded… everything worked out and upon collecting the couch (two days before lockdown started), the sellers informed us that tens of people had also shown interest; one even requesting to pay an extra R4k for the couch. This couch turned out to be an amazing “saving grace” for us during lockdown… God certainly does know our every heart’s desire and the exact time in which we need it to come to fruition!
