Lyta Ekasi – “Light up your township!”
Another successful day was had as George, Palesa, and their team taught over 35 kids the importance of trafficking awareness, self-defense, and exercise! The kids were super happy being gifted toiletry bags…however, the highlight was the chance to eat hot dogs! Yum! A nice break from their usual pap and sauce meal.
Lyta Ekasi focuses on building up a child with a holistic viewpoint:
Food & Hygiene: Breakfast and lunch are provided at each event as well as a gift bag of hygiene/toiletry items (deodorant, facecloths, toothbrushes, toothpaste, vaseline, sanitary pads, etc).
Fun: Important life lessons are taught through the best method possible – play! Children learn about self-awareness as well as being aware of those around them.
Safety: Life coaching and mentoring sessions are conducted in a way to help children feel safe and secure in sharing about vulnerable issues in their lives. They are provided guidance on how to empower themselves in these areas.
Literacy: Book clubs are set up to improve the children’s overall comprehension and literacy levels.
Thank you to all the amazing people who are helping to empower the most vulnerable kids and “light up their townships” for the better!
