We kicked the four-day Easter weekend off with a bang! With a Bokamoso group of over 50 kids every day, it was set to be a busy, fun-filled long weekend! Right off the bat, it was amazing to receive a donation to purchase all the kid’s several Easter eggs each, making the “hunt” and games a lot more fun. Yummy, marshmallow chocolate eggs all around. Our local Cub Scout group was also very thoughtful in donating Easter eggs to Bokamoso! It always takes a village!
We loved being able to share the message of God’s love and hope to all of the children as well as bless them with yummy hot cross buns donated by one of our ministry partners. The kids loved the tasty, sticky buns! When it came time for the Easter Egg “hunt”, all we had at our disposal was a huge soccer field littered with trash and broken glass. However, the kids did not seem to mind one bit, as this was their “backyard”; they were just super eager to get hunting!
It’s always wonderful to be able to serve and love on all the kids alongside our own children. Our daughter loves to bring her face painting kit along, and instruct everyone on how it’s done correctly! Our son gets stuck in helping serve food, organize games, and much more. There is nothing quite as special as “loving one’s neighbor” as a family as you eat delicious Easter candy! 😉
