God + Coincidence = Godincidence! Have you ever had a “Godincidence”? They are pretty cool…you just happen to be at the right place at the right time and God connects you to someone? Awhile back I was at the grocery store shopping for an orphanage event; when I do I often get comments or questions about my cart being full of specific food items or just lots of items! On this particular day, I had a cart overflowing with 100 hotdog rolls and all the other goodies to go with them. A lovely lady inquired as to why I had so many buns/rolls!
It turns out that she owns a boutique cake store and offered to donate a cake when an opportunity arose; we exchanged numbers. This week, I received a call from her saying that she had a stunning R4,000 cake ( $250) that the customer no longer wanted and so did we want it? Yum…yes, please! I called up Yolanda at Footprints (IRIS Ministry) and asked if they would like it for their home of 33 children.
Yolanda had just experienced a very traumatic month which included the death of loved ones as well as young children. Her birthday was the next day and she didn’t feel much like making a cake…but God had other ideas for her to celebrate her special day! Within an hour, she had a beautiful three-tier cake in hand…. the name on the cake was “Grace”… because God knows we all need a little or a lot of grace in tough times!
